脂肪酸結合蛋白6(FABP6)是細胞內脂質結合蛋白(iLBP)家族的一員,在膽汁酸穩態中發揮作用。它由10條反平行的β鏈組成,形成含有脂質結合位點的β桶,主要在回腸的腸上皮細胞中表達,FABP6結合膽汁酸和脂肪酸,并與回腸膽汁酸轉運蛋白相互作用,以幫助膽汁酸吸收,促進膽汁酸的細胞內運輸,大腸癌患者血清FABP6水平升高,手術切除癌組織后降低。FABP6T79M與肥胖個體2型糖尿病風險降低相關。
